Miller received his medical degree in 1965 from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his internship at Mercy Hospital in Springfield hio. He started practicing medicine in 1966 in Nickelsville. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Medical Association American Academy of Family Practice Association of Clinical Research Professionals Tennessee Medical Association Tennessee Association of Family Physicians and the Medical Group Management Association.
