Wrestling warned over ‘imported’ athletes
Telegraph.co.uk – Jan 26, 2008
“Under International Olympic Committee regulations, there is nothing to stop an athlete competing for their adopted country, providing they have been given official residency and have not competed for their nation of birth for at least three years. The rest of the Ukrainian group is made up of two coaches, Anatole Sergei, a former world No?2, and Nicolai Kornyeyev, chief coach to the British national team. British Wrestling’s performance director, Shaun Morley, said he had recruited the best coaches and athletes available to improve the quality of home-grown talent and that it was not part of a plan to ‘buy in’ foreign talent. “Wrestling in world terms is still very much a developing sport,” he said. “In order for our athletes to progress, they need access to quality training partners and coaches. “East European nations are the strongest in the world. That’s why I looked to Ukraine.

It was then he fell for another co-star, US actor Michelle Williams, who played his wife in the cowboy love story. Since their break-up, the normally low-key actor was constantly seen on the New York party circuit, attending everything from film premieres to fashion shows. He was linked to stunners including model-turned-photographer Helena Christensen, actor Kate Bosworth and home-grown supermodel Gemma Ward. Whispers of Lindsay Lohan and Ledger enjoying several late-night sessions after meeting in a New York bar also had gossip websites buzzing. But Ward had firmed as Ledger’s new love, with sightings of them in Perth at Christmas. The latest speculation was that Mary-Kate Olsen and Ledger were more than just friends. Share this article.

Morrison ready for a title fight
Belfast Telegraph – Jan 26, 2008
The home-grown hero has been heavily involved in the team’s 13-match winning run which has thrust them from the bottom half of the table to second place and into a challenge for the league crown. Coach Ed Courtenay simply asks his third line to ensure that they don’t concede goals, but lately they have been doing much more than that. Morrison has been netting himself and last Saturday night against Manchester Phoenix he got into a fight with Luke Stauffacher which had the Odyssey crowd going made. While the Irish Indoor Athletics Championships take over the Giants home this weekend the team travels across the border to Dundalk to face the Edinburgh Capitals and Morrison while winning is the main priority, having his name on the game scoresheet is also on his mind. "Thirteen wins in a row is a great achievement for the team and everyone is pulling in the same direction," said Morrison.
