I think the Rockies and the Indians will go 7 games. (And yes, I already think that it’s a fore-gone conclussion that the Indians will beat the Sox) document… but I would definitely give the edge to Cleveland, as they are all home-grown, and have steadily improved for the last 4 years with the same people. The Rockies have a better staff than the Sox, and almost as good as the Indians. The line-ups for all 3 are pretty equal.

After fourteen years, Rockies on map
Denver Post – Oct 16, 2007
Owens would then excitedly phone the Rockies’ front office to report that the left-handed pitching phenom was coming along nicely. He saw the future coming – just not this quickly. “I thought we were still a year or two away from making a serious run,” said Owens, noting that the Rockies’ home-grown approach could have greater staying power than other expansion franchises who found short-lived success through high- priced free agents – and then blew up. “There’s no reason to believe this success will collapse. We’ll have the essentials of this team for years to come. ” David Garland, an 86-year-old doctor in family practice, watched his father nurture baseball in Denver for years. He later gave up a promising future as a pitcher for a career in medicine – but has watched nearly every home game, including Monday night’s series clincher, from his seat behind home plate.
Kevin Sheedy proving a hit in the US as AFL ambassador
NEWS.com.au – Oct 16, 2007
Sheedy compared the standard of the grand final as similar to the football played in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. He said all sides had to have a 50-50 mix of Australian expatriates and local players. Sheedy believes it could be another five to 10 years before America produces a home-grown AFL player. "It’s worth pursuing, that’s for sure," he said. Sheedy and Silvagni have run clinics on tour and were guest speakers at a function attended by 800 people on Saturday, where the USAFL launched its hall of fame and announced its teams of the decade and an All-American team. A ground for Australian rules and cricket in Fort Lauderdale is nearly completed and will seat 25,000 fans. "It’s 170m around, so it’s big enough for football," Sheedy said.

It was meaningless to blame crime on poverty or even to consider it a long-term result of the apartheid policies. "Criminals are home-grown. They come from our own communities. The stolen guns that kill randomly are at times hidden away by members of the family. That gun, they say, brings bread home. It keeps hunger and starvation at bay.
