Same goes for Pedro Feliz, one of the game’s best defensive third basemen and the only home-grown position player to play regularly for the Giants since Bill Mueller. And who knows? With general manager Brian Sabean promising to remake the team in 2008, even players who have contracts for next season could be moved in trades. Of all the non-Bonds Giants, Vizquel would be the biggest name to go if he is not re-signed (assuming Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum truly are off-limits). Management has hinted that it wants the perennial Gold Glover to return, even at 40, because his solid play at shortstop dovetails with the pitching-and-defense team the Giants want to manufacture. Still, there are no guarantees.
