In the absence of the suspended Richard Dunne, Richards was made captain by Eriksson. “He represents Manchester City,” explained Eriksson of the hungry, home-grown defender. “I wouldn’t be surprised in the future if he were captain. “If Richards and Johnson enjoyed good weeks, the same could not be said of Ireland, who did not even make City’s match-day squad after claiming assorted relatives had died in flying home suddenly from Republic of Ireland duty. Young and educated Indians regard the desire to speak English asit is spoken in England as a silly hang-up from a bygone era. Home-grown idiosyncrasies have worked their way into the mainstreamto such an extent that only fanatical purists question theirusage. It’s the digital age alternative to sorting through boxes of papers in a warehouse. Today, what was once Nextra is now the electronic data discovery division for Chicago- based Huron Consulting, which bought the Columbia company in August 2006. With 600 reviewers and five offices — in Rock Hill, Raleigh, N. , Houston, Miami and New York — it has no equal in the Carolinas as a home-grown success, according to industry observers. Nationwide, however, it’s just one of many outfits that made the grade in an industry whose explosive growth fosters new challenges in the practice of law. “There are people coming into this industry faster than we can count,” said Maureen Atta, facility and project manager at Huron Consulting’s Morrisville, N.

Kalmadi said the earlier deadline of September 30 for signing the final contract had now been extended. India’s ambitious F1 plans were first unveiled in June when the IOA announced it had received a letter from Formula 1 supremo Ecclestone, allowing the country to host a race in 2009 but subject to meeting certain conditions. Ecclestone has recently promoted India as one of the future markets for motor sport after home-grown Narain Karthikeyan drove for Jordan in the 2005 season. Karthikeyan hit the road on the back of Indian sponsorship reportedly worth 10 million dollars. The 29-year-old did not race in 2006 but is signed up with Williams as a test driver. Indian business tycoon Vijay Mallya stated earlier this month that he was determined to bring a Formula One race to his country after confirming he had bought a 50 percent stake in the Spyker team. Millions of Indians watch F1 on television, often with the same passion they reserve for the country’s most popular sport — cricket.
