Drumming up the interest
Channel News Asia – Apr 26, 2007
“This way, the younger generation will be exposed to more genres of music than the usual pop, rock or punk music. ”
Tan said the company is confident of a 2,000-strong turnout, but declined to reveal the cost of staging the event. The organisers are also hoping to uncover home-grown drumming talent with a side event, the Drum Challenge. However, there are already grouses about ticket prices being too steep for an event that is essentially made up of a roster of rather niche artistes. A two-day pass – with prices ranging from S$75 to S$190 – allows fans to catch all the artistes during the seven-hour show on each day. “There are no big names but tickets are really expensive,” said 24-year-old heavy metal fan Hashim Omar, who said he would nonetheless attend for a chance to catch Roddy in action. “I don’t think the ticket price is worth it just to catch a drum session by one musician”.

–> COPYRIGHT 2007 Detroit Free Press Byline: Krista Jahnke Apr. 26–Ever wonder how the Pistons became road warriors? In 2003, they were beginning their rise to the top and made it to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 1991. But they opened with two home losses to the Nets and traveled to the Meadowlands deflated. They were swept in New Jersey, and nothing has been the same since. “We told ourselves in the locker room that we would never allow that to happen again,” shooting guard Richard Hamilton said. “With that little sick feeling we had that year, we ended up.
House OKs bill to bring troops home
AZ Central.com – Apr 26, 2007
“How many more suicide bombs must kill American soldiers before this president offers a timeline for our troops to come home?” asked Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Pa… The bill also establishes benchmarks for the Iraqi government to meet: Create a program to disarm militias, reduce sectarian violence, ease rules that purged the government of all former Baath Party members and approve a law on sharing oil revenue. Unless the Bush administration determines by July 1 that those benchmarks are being met, troops would begin coming home immediately, with a goal of completing those withdrawals by the end of the year. If benchmarks were re being met, troops would begin coming home no later than Oct. 1, with a goal of completing the troop pullout by April 1. After combat forces are withdrawn, some troops could remain to protect U. facilities and diplomats, pursue terrorist organizations and train and equip Iraqi security forces.
Supporters Rally at Capitol to Call for ‘E85 Everywhere’
Earthtimes.org – Apr 26, 2007
Many more have expressed strong interest in E85-as consumer awareness of E85 is growing quickly. More than 80% of Minnesota motorists professed to be ’somewhat’ or have ry familiar’ with E85 in a February 2007 survey conducted for the American Lung Association of Minnesota by Phoenix Automotive. “We need to make this home-grown, affordable, low carbon, renewable alternative to gasoline much more available and convenient for Minnesotans to find and use in their flex fuel vehicles,” said Mike Bull, assistant commissioner of Commerce and a strong advocate for renewable energy in Minnesota. “E85 Everywhere is a critical part of Governor Pawlenty’s Next Generation Energy Initiative. “”The American Lung Association of Minnesota did not lend its support to E85 before doing our own extensive research,” said Gerlach, who is also Vice President of Clean Fuels & Vehicle Technologies for the regional American Lung Association. “Let’s make one point perfectly clear: E85 provides us a tool today for reducing several harmful air pollutants. It can also significantly reduce lifecycle carbon dioxide emissions that have been associated with global climate change.

Help Net Security – Apr 26, 2007
ArcSight NCM improves productivity and responsiveness of IT staff to changing business needs, while maintaining and improving network compliance, security and reliability. Through automating network configuration tasks, ArcSight NCM responds rapidly to network events, while ensuring any network configuration changes are automatically documented and conform to both operational policy, as well as any regulatory mandates. Until ArcSight NCM, attempts at solving these complex and repetitive tasks have either been home-grown scripts or software solutions that are difficult to maintain. ArcSight TRM allows the exact location of any compromise on the network to be instantly pinpointed and responded to with specific policy-based actions. Through incorporating the incident response plan with prevention and detection technology, ArcSight has created a solution that can:
