Jeffm: Calling me a "home grown racist" because I point out that there is indeed a de facto occupation in Palestine is a smear, which, if I cared, would bother me. Rather, it might stimulate some introspection on your part regarding your own lack of tolerance for ideas with which you disagree. pearl on April 14, 2007 at 10:22 p.
Two bombers attack US targets in Morocco
Reuters AlertNet – Apr 14, 2007
Police later arrested three other men, and were cheered by hundreds of onlookers as officers pushed them into a police car to be taken away for questioning. The government has said it was on alert for a gang who planned to blow up foreign ships docking at Casablanca’s port and hotels in Morocco’s main tourist cities. The Rabat government says the bombers were "home-grown" militants with no links to international terror networks. However, analyst Miloud Belkadi said the targets of Saturday’s bombings set them apart from those of Tuesday, which were clearly detonated as a tactic to deny pursuing police. "The bombing today underscores links with al Qaeda strategy focusing on U. targets," he said.

Mets’ Star Power Beyond Nats’ Grasp

It will take many years to draft and develop pitching depth, or it will take a cool hundred million or so to acquire proven talent via free agency. Thrifty Ownership has proven they are a patient group, willing to wait for the home grown talent to get here and then mature. Winning is not a burning desire, and being historically bad is not embarrassing. The Plan is The Plan is The Plan. Wish I could say I was that patient, but Im not. When the weather warms up and the sun stays out late, this team will be as forgotten as last years cherry blossoms.

DAGESTAN’S Flying Tzars are a resilient bunch with the kind of tough old-fashioned family values needed to survive in one of the world’s toughest outposts. Just ask Aussie show business entrepreneur Graham Hutchison, who seven years ago left his comfortable Gold Coast home to check out the ensemble more formally known as The Imperial Russian Dance Company. Hutchison, who started in the industry four decades ago staging home-grown rock ‘n’ rollers such as Zoot and Billy Thorpe in his native Brisbane, has had an office in Moscow since the early 1990s. The entrepreneur, one of the world’s biggest exporters of Russian acts, began working with the Russian Ministry of Culture in 1990s and since then has brought more than three dozen acts to Australia. "We had our first major tour with the Bolshoi Ballet in 1994 and since then worked with companies such as the Red Army Choir and the Siberian Cossacks, but seeing the Flying Tzars for the first time was a special experience," Hutchison said. "When we flew to Dagestan on the Caspian Sea, it was such an event that I was interviewed by the local television station. "They were impressed that I’d actually come; Westerners hadn’t been for some time as previously two visitors had been shot.
‘Spider-Man 3′ to web in moviegoers with hype
Jamaica Gleaner – Apr 14, 2007
Home-grown hero Spider-Man in 2002 and Spider-Man 2 in 2004 averaged more than US$800 million at global box offices and millions more in DVD and other sales. The films boosted profits at Sony. “This really is our home-grown hero. The whole company gets behind it and embraces it,” said Jeff Blake, vice-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, the division that runs Columbia. For many months, fans have seen theatre advertising, web promotions, billboards and other ads with the red-and-blue-suited Spider-Man (Maguire), his nemesis The New Goblin (James Franco) and love interest, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). But the web of Spider-Man hype gets wider on April 16 with the first of a series of premieres starting in Tokyo. The movie’s makers then head to London on April 23 and Rome, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Stockholm and New York on April 30 for ‘Spider-Man Week in NYC’.
