Man Killed, 1 Injured In Attempted Robbery
Washington Post - Dec 29, 2006
As if crime has to be imported to the suburbs, As if crime never existed in waldorf, the same place that the white locals burned down a whole community of houses in the name of white power. I say good luck to people who move from DC to waldorf as well as good luck to waldorf! Say hello to those SE thugs who come all the way to wardorf to paint schwasticas on buildings and damage property for me will ya! The truth is wardorfs crime is mostly home grown. People who grew up in waldorf. No one from SE is moving to wardorf, at least the thugs you are referring to. The average price of a house in waldorf is 300-400K. The blacks who move out there are buying houses, not moving into apartments so that group your referring to makes up a very small portion of who is migrating.

I waited, and then reluctantly the buzzard flew off; in its zigzag flight, I saw the unmistakable dark stripes across the end of its tail. This autumn has been so mild, until the recent, long-awaited onset of winter, that a local pick-your-own fruit farm was still selling raspberries, blueberries and a few strawberries early this month. Imagine dishing up a trifle for Christmas Day, decorated with fruit which has not been inside a freezer! Those of us who like to preserve our home-grown produce have shelves of apples and plums in the larder. I have heard blackbirds and thrushes singing, and a friend told me that many swallows and chiffchaffs have stayed in this country, rather than make the effort to migrate. Wetland birds rely chiefly on catching food from rivers and lakes, and winter can be very hard for them when a severe freeze cuts off food supplies. When I was a child, we skated on Angerton lake, a few miles north of this village, every year on Boxing Day. When I went there yesterday for a walk with my dog, there were birds in abundance on the water… When I was a child, we skated on Angerton lake, a few miles north of this village, every year on Boxing Day. When I went there yesterday for a walk with my dog, there were birds in abundance on the water. Records for butterflies end at the beginning of October because they should have all gone, but this year I have had reports of sightings of both small tortoiseshells and red admiral butterflies. Even some thrushes and blackbirds have been heard to sing their carols. Sightings of golden plover in autumn used to predict rain and severe weather because they disappear when the ground freezes, making it difficult for them to feed, but this winter I have had news of these birds in quite large numbers on a mudflat. The majority of native wrens remain resident throughout the year, but in our northern counties, they do migrate. This winter I have seen two wrens in the garden.

–>Home Sweet Home Jr. House-Proud Parents Build Playhouse-Size Replicas; A Septic Tank Like Dad’sBy TROY MCMULLENDecember 29, 2006When Krystal and Hal Barkate decided to buy a second home last year, they wanted something just like their yellow Colonial. So the couple hired a builder to create an exact replica — right down to the cream trim, covered front porch and pitched roof with gabled dormers. The big difference: The house, which also has a fireplace and an open-plan kitchen, is a 10-foot-tall playhouse for their two kids, ages 5 and 3, and sits in their backyard in Ladera Ranch, Calif. The Barkates paid $15,000 for the pint-size Colonial, and that doesn’t include what they spent on the little garage and roof deck they added this summer. "People think it’s crazy," Ms… House-proud Americans have a new way to show off their trophy homes. Taking the pricey playhouse concept to the next level, some homeowners are building Mini-Me McMansions for their kids. The lavish replicas, which can include such grown-up amenities as hardwood floors and media rooms with satellite TVs, generally cost from $10,000 to $100,000. Some run even higher than that, exceeding the median price of a single-family home ($218,000 in November). In some areas the playhouses are running afoul of local zoning ordinances, building codes and housing-development covenants, annoying neighbors who object to the backyard estates and racking up substantial fines. Annual playhouse sales numbers, including this pricey niche, aren’t available, but manufacturers say demand for the custom-made replicas is growing. It’s all ‘Ho Ho Ho and bring on the good times. Having just returned from a vacation to South Africa, I noticed how much more emphasis is given to the frills of Christmas in China than back home. In fact, apart from the sanctity of one’s own home, the endless choruses of ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ and the forest of red and white felt hats is a smothering of yuletide blessings that registers way above 10 on the festivities scale. All this tinsel mania needs to be toned down several notches and put into perspective. It seems I am not alone in my sentiments. A recent open letter in the China Daily online edition was outspoken in calling for Chinese revellers to ditch exotic western holidays and pay more attention to home grown holidays. What made the petition newsworthy, and set off a sleigh ride of response, was the fact that it was penned by a group of 10 PhD students and left no room as to where their feelings lay… All this tinsel mania needs to be toned down several notches and put into perspective. It seems I am not alone in my sentiments. A recent open letter in the China Daily online edition was outspoken in calling for Chinese revellers to ditch exotic western holidays and pay more attention to home grown holidays. What made the petition newsworthy, and set off a sleigh ride of response, was the fact that it was penned by a group of 10 PhD students and left no room as to where their feelings lay. With the breath-clutching title “Out of Cultural Collective Unconsciousness, Strengthen Chinese Cultural Dominance” the students, who are studying at the silver spoon universities of Beida, Tsinghua and People’s University hope to “wake up the Chinese people to resist western cultural invasion”. In an unambiguous citizen-lashing and firm stand against western culture and lifestyle in China, the letter began: “We 10 doctoral students from different universities and research institutes solemnly call on our countrymen to be cautious about Christmas, to wake from their collective cultural coma and give Chinese culture the dominant role. ”
In very colourful language and intimating the growing assimilation of China and the outside world, the students showed alarm: “Western culture has been changing from a breeze and a drizzle into a wild wind and a heavy storm.
