Blewett’s last Pura Cup ton (171) was against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval in November, 2003. He had not made a century for 45 innings when axed from SA’s Pura Cup unit. Selectors usually look at a prolonged form curve and mode of dismissal to assess players – even home-grown heroes. Blewett debuted for SA against Queensland in Brisbane in November 1991 alongside the late David Hookes and national chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch. Blewett, who made centuries in his first two Tests for Australia, was targeting a post-Christmas comeback to the four-day arena after being overlooked for the first half of the season. He will finish with impressive domestic one-day statistics having made 3544 runs at 39. 82 in 100 one-day matches.

–> COPYRIGHT 2006 The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Byline: Duane Stanford Dec. 12–NEW YORK — Coca-Cola’s new president and chief operating officer said Monday the company needs to be “more courageous” and have an “entrepreneurial spirit” to once again grow sales of carbonated soft drinks in North America. Muhtar Kent’s public remarks at a beverage industry conference in Manhattan were his first since he was named to the company’s No. 2 position last Thursday. Kent, a native of Turkey who has spent most of his 28 years with Coke outside the United States, has proved himself as an international operator. Coke’s 6 percent increase in sales internationally this year is its best gain in six years, the company said.
