To think that by 2007 the Angels could have the home-grown players of Kotchman, Kendrick, Wood, McPherson, Morales, Weaver, and Rodriguez all playing is a truly scary thought. Shortstop-Erick Aybar: Often lost in the hype about Brandon Wood, Aybar is another very good shortstop prospect in the Angels’ system. With Cabrera and Wood blocking him however, it would appear that Aybar will be used as trade bait at some point, unless McPherson continuously struggles and Wood is moved to third base.
