All Points Capital is a home-grown success story, and it is our lease finance company. Started four years ago. We hired 8 people four years ago. There’s 75 people working in the company today. According to Gardener, about 80% of the money traditionally spent on website software has been for tools that companies use to build their own web software. Gardener says that a major shift is now taking place in the market, and they predict that 70% of the IT e-commerce spend will now be going to buy software solutions like ours. They were very direct saying in 2006, clients should eliminate this full components in home-grown code and replace with a commercial off-the-shelf solution. Among our customers and new prospects alike, we clearly see this pattern. Organizations are upgrading their sites and increasingly turning to companies like ATG to provide the sophisticated solutions they need. A couple of remarkably refreshing thoughts amid a sea of Super Bowl silliness. — Eddie PellsDETROIT — I knew having the Super Bowl in my backyard would require some heavy lifting, but I didn’t expect that to be literally true until Saturday afternoon. When AP photographer Carlos Osorio and I arrived at the home of Jerome Bettis’ parents, Johnnie Bettis — The Bus’ father — answered the door with beads of sweat covering his face. “Excuse my appearance, we’re just in the middle of moving a washer and dryer,” he said. “Need some help?” I asked. After pausing and saying, “No”, Osorio and I insisted and ended up assisting the Bettises move new appliances from the garage to basement, and the old dryer up to the garage. Thankfully, they had a dolly… Cowher has three daughters — all of them accomplished basketball players, as was their mother. Holmgren has four daughters and four granddaughters. “Most of the time, that’s what Bill and I talk about — the women in our lives and we’ve watched each other’s families as they’ve grown up,” Holmgren said Monday. “It’s kind of nice. But yoga’s trendiness and sexy-hipness and the conference’s all-star yoga celebrity line-up made my inner self quell. These days I just want to stay home and bake winter squash and plan my next camping trip. I don’t want to be in a crush of starstruck cliquey yoga hotties and egotistical gurus. A yoga teacher friend of mine (hip enough to be in that clique) expressed the same reservations, and my viewpoint was reinforced… It was, as he puts it, a fortuitous meeting. Abbott brought his financial expertise to a magazine which represented a 5,000 year tradition that was just about to revolutionize the fitness world. In the last ten years, YJ’s subscription base has grown from 50,000 subscribers to 340,000 today. According to YJ Communications Director Dayna Macy, the number of yoga practitioners has grown 43% in the last three years. Today, Yoga Journal’s thriving business includes the magazine, thrice-yearly conferences and sales of books and videos. So, yoga teaches you to be open and in the moment, without thinking of the past or future and not placing expectations on anything, and it seems I needed a little reminder of this again. I entered the conference Marketplace on Friday evening where there was lots of yoga stuff for sale - from stylish yoga mat bags to Sanskrit character jewelry and wrap skirts (for men and women) and books and CDs and statues and lots of yoga clothes (Even if you’re not attending the conference which runs through Monday, you can still go buy stuff.
