The grimpossibility that the two London attacks last month were not simply a sporadicterror campaign is being discussed at the highest levels ingovernment. Fears of a thirdstrike remain high, based on concrete evidence supplied by an intercepted textmessage and the interrogation of a terror suspect being held outside Britain,The Independent dailyreported. As police andsecurity services work to prevent another attack, attention is focusing on thepool of migrants to Britain from the horn of Africa and central Asia. MI5, theBritish internal intelligence agency, is of the view that more than 10,000 youngmen from these regions have had at least basic training in light weapons andmilitary explosives.

Around that time, the current commissioner, Bud Selig, said that he could not even consider altering the record books because “there have been no players convicted of anything. ” He added, “That’s a question that if there’s a necessity I’ll look at something in the future. McGwire, who retired in 2001, and Bonds, who has not played this season because of injury, have not been cited by Major League Baseball as having failed a drug test.
