Malaysia Star - Apr 29, 2005
Those heated battles for AIM accolades told the tale. Stiff competition and excitement has come at a premium at recent AIM shows. In the past few years, local rock and pop music itself has become demythologised, or rather quite sadly, an entire home-grown music industry has been devalued. Many fans and certain record labels still want our pop stars to be mythic, but that romantic notion is equally rare as it is obsolete now. Todays audiences are either too knowledgeable or cynical to buy into just anything. For instance, local Malay rock was once loud and proud with Search and XPDC, but can anybody seriously bank on Amuk or Viper to get the job done these days? Its a scary thought, but even Malaysian Idol judges Paul Moss and Roslan Aziz had more attitude and sneer to their game than most of todays tails-between-their-legs local rock outfits. It was, arguably, a lot easier to be musically interesting and significant over a decade ago.

The new offering has a handful of new improvements including a library of adapters that allow the server to more easily integrate with a range of existing applications that in turn can be tied to new applications. Other new features include more flexibility through wizard-driven business rules, acceleration of business processes, simplified Web-based remote deployment configuration and administration, and a series of tools that allow corporate and third party developers to create adapters for both home grown and business applications. The new adapters help automate a range of back-end integration processes freeing up SMBs to focus more on the day to day business issues, IBM officials contend. The benefit of the adapters for business partners is they make remote-based management easier, which better ensures on-demand responses to core business needs, they said. “With WBI (Websphere Business Integration) Server Express 4. 4 we are focusing on the out-of-the-box experience with the use of wizards for creating modified business rules.

Gallup Independent - Apr 29, 2005
Ludescher Staff Writer GALLUP — The Diabetes Advisory Council of Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital has received a $487,000 three-year grant to take diabetes education into the public schools. Education Coordinator Allison Kozeliski said the program is in keeping with RMCH’s focus on wellness during the coming year. "This is a home-grown, grass-roots approach," she said. "There’s a lot of programs that focus on adults, but we wanted something to target kids. " The new program will be a partnership between Gallup-McKinley schools and the advisory council, a group of people representing area healthcare providers as well as diabetes patients. The council has used part of the grant money to hire additional staff to help implement the program. Annette Dominguez, the new wellness project coordinator, will begin by teaching healthy lifestyle and eating habits to 150 fourth graders.
