”But if you go to Germany, people throw cheques at you. They want to invest in solar energy because the European market is booming. ” He points out that a continuing lack of support in Australia for solar research and development has already resulted in two innovative, home-grown solar technologies relocating to Spain and Germany. A third company is currently negotiating a move to Switzerland. ”It’s hard, hard work to stay in this field of research in Australia, when there’s no real renewable energy funding agency. ”There are only two groups left in Australia – at the ANU and the University of New South Wales – that have more than 25 people doing research in this area ” says Blakers, who is director of the Centre for Sustainable.
How AJ will score Euro 2008 winner
Times Online – Feb 14, 2005
Playing for the England team means also he is one of the best in the business. With AJ and other rising young English strikers like Defoe and Rooney, England’s goalscoring is in good hands for many years to come. You can argue though that the flow of foreign players and managers has destroyed the traditional English game and gives less room for the home-grown players like AJ to come through. I agree the overflow of us asylum-seekers has made the competition harder. On the other hand nobody can deny that the present English players and clubs are the most competitive for the last few decades. If the Premiership was a couple of years ago in danger of turning into all French, now we are past that horror picture. At the moment the main language of the very best in the Premiership has become English, and these players are the essential core for the national team that is hopefully going to fulfil my prophecy.
Scenes from a marriage

Some of those who have had dealings with Sugar might be surprised at the idea that he lacks rudeness. But, to anyone who has watched the parent format, Sugar seems for the first time in his life to live up to his surname, resembling Trump after a long period of anger counselling, sedation and toupee removal. One reason for the lower stock of the home-grown show is that Sugar is relatively lacking in flash or, at least, the willingness to show it to the cameras. Where the American series began with the host travelling in a quantity of air-borne and land-use vehicles that would belong to the army in some small countries, the UK tycoon is shown only in one small plane. The one place in which the US show is Trumped is in the quality of the advice. Sugar finds an error in the practice of one team and manages a snappy epigram: “I could sell £10 notes at nine pounds all day. ” Although British TV can be accused of being too reliant on imports, The Apprentice is a good piece of business.
Red carpet shows arrive
The Age – Feb 14, 2005
It appears that the ratings gap between pre-awards programmingand actual awards telecasts is closing. Networks are eager toproduce these awards appetisers and punters are often moreintrigued to see who’s wearing who than they are to endure drearyacceptance speeches. Even when it comes to a home-grown renderingof red carpet glitz, our attention is shifting toward intense frockscrutiny. A spokesman for Nine says, “Figures for our Logies Red CarpetArrivals are not much less than the actual awards. As demand for red carpet coverage increases, so does the valueof media real estate outside those velvet ropes. Newsreader andformer US correspondent for Ten, Deborah Knight, has “done time” atall major entertainment awards in LA and says, “It’s always acomplete bunfight with NO glamour. “The worst of them is the Oscars.
